TEACHING FUTURE PR-SPECIALISTS INTERCULTURAL AND BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS USING ENGLISH BUSINESS CORRESPONDENCE AND DOCUMENTS

Karbasova O.V.

Abstract

The present paper concerns the issue of teaching future PR-specialists “Intercultural and business communications” in a foreign language. The problem consists in a cardinal differ-ence between the two fields of business communication: written and oral communication. The former follows strict, sometimes archaic rules, the latter meets the modern norms of oral communication. As the practice of PR suggests establishing both formal and informal business relations, a PR specialist must recognize the nature of a communicative situation and correctly use either official or unofficial style of business communication. A wrong choice can threaten the success of a PR-campaign or event. As practice shows, the main difficulties arise when studying and correctly using the norms of written business communication. The author suggests focusing on the two main aspects of the written business communication: business correspondence and business documents as the stage of written business communication, as a rule, precedes oral business communication. An in-depth view on business correspondence helps the students to understand the realia of the English-language business writing, the style of business communication and English culture in general. It is especially important for the future PR-specialists who use business style in their everyday practice. The author suggests using the method of “three Ps”(PPP - presentation, practice, production) which includes the presentation of the new material, training and creative use of the new knowledge and skills in written practice.

THE ANALYSIS OF QUALITY OF DOUGH FROM A COURSE OF THE HIGHER MATHEMATICS ON THE SUBJECT "LINEAR ALGEBRA, ANALYTICAL GEOMETRY"

Limanova L.V., Muratova L.A.

Abstract

In article the mathematico-statistical analysis of quality of dough on the subject "Linear Algebra, Analytical Geometry" is carried out. Quality of dough decides on the help of such characteristics as reliability, a validity and a diskriminativnost. At research of test for reliability three ways of calculation of coefficient of reliability were applied: on a variation of test tasks (formula KR-20); with use of average coefficient of correlation of all tasks among themselves (a formula of calculation of coefficients of correlation for dichotomizing data); splitting of dough on even and odd tasks and determination of coefficient of correlation between these groups. In the latter case the coefficient of reliability was corrected on Spirmena-Brown's formula. The analysis of results showed in all three cases satisfactory reliability of dough, as all turned-out reliability coefficients more than 0,7. The validity of dough was estimated by means of dot biserial coefficient of correlation - coefficient of correlation of each task with test point of the student (individual point) and the general coefficient of a validity of dough. It appeared that the general coefficient of a validity has average value (0,434). For improvement of quality of dough it is offered to exclude the tasks 1, 4 and 12 having or negative correlation with many other tasks, or too low correlation with test point of the student. The analysis of coefficients of a diskriminativnost also speaks well for an exception of the test of the specified tasks. In general it is possible to draw a conclusion that this test can be used as a control device of knowledge of students of the subject "Linear Algebra, Analytical Geometry" after the specified completion.

Malova M.M.

Abstract

The main problem of the assessment system of foreign communicative competence of students of non-linguistic universities is increasing of students’ motivation to the learning process, formation of their knowledge, abilities and skills and competence acquirement. The solving of this pedagogical problem can be achieved through the establishment of feedback between a teacher and students, when their full interaction is possible provided that the structure of assessment system corresponds to the principle of consistency. The research of this pedagogical problem requires presenting the assessment process in the form of a system. Thus the aim of the given research is analyzing and considering how the as-sessment system of foreign communicative competence of students of non-linguistic universi-ties is organized. In the process of investigation it is necessary to prove if the assessment sys-tem corresponds to the notion of a “system”, define the components of the system and trace the relationship between them. The analysis of the assessment system of foreign communicative competence of students of non-linguistic universities has been based on the following approaches: system, competence-based, communicative, individual, data-technological and vocationally-orientated. The analysis of the approaches considered has revealed the system nature of assessment, has defined the structure of the system and has showed that assessment is an inseparable system, including the teacher and students connected by the feedback principle, methods and means of assessment and students’ knowledge, abilities, skills and competences. The approaches to the assessment of foreign communicative competence of students of non-linguistic universities are given in the form of hierarchy because their detailed analysis has shown a certain relationship between them. Reviewing the assessment system through each of the approaches we can argue that all the approaches in the hierarchy are placed according to the extent of their importance. System approach is at the top of the hierarchy for it is the system approach that considers an object as a system; therefore it is fundamental in the study of the assessment system. The system approach deals with interrelated objects inside a system, the system that has a purpose, connection with outside environment and feedback - all the characteristics that are inherent in the assessment system.

Ryabinova E.N., Marchenkova L.A.

Abstract

Relevance of formation of verbal competences of graduates of technical university in the course of their vocational training is considered. Need of development it is professional - speech communication in the course of training of future engineers it is connected with that a number of essential differences from liberal arts college has technical education. It is connected with prevalence of the disciplines based on the exact sciences, and the organization of educational activity more accurately structured. For technical college specific style of relationship of students and teachers - less subjective and emotional, more rational, rigid and rectilinear is characteristic. For manifestation of creative activity in engineering activity the general indicators of intellectual achievements, sotsial-but-mental sets and personal characteristics matter (emotional and strong-willed and communicative). Results of pilot studies allowed to draw a conclusion that an intellectual factor - development of verbal and nonverbal intelligence, high-speed characteristics of thinking - has backbone value for creative activity in engineering activity. The traditional content of the humanitarian disciplines taught at technical universities is de-prived of a professional orientation and doesn't consider feature of engineering activity. It creates need of formation of verbal competences of students of technical university in the course of their vocational training which has to be combined harmoniously with main objec-tives, consider prospects of development of the higher technical education at a stage of for-mation of the new educational concept. It is shown that future engineer demands formation of verbal kompetentnost of students in technical university: ability to perceive, analyze, generalize information; to gain new knowledge, to operate own rechemyslitelny process; to masterfully use written and oral speech in various genres of a scientific and official style; with deep arguments to state own point of view, messages of polemic and discussion.

STRUCTURING OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL IN PHYSICS AT THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

Tyutyaev A.V.

Abstract

One way to improve the efficiency of learning is the use of a deep logical structuring of educational information. In this paper, we propose a new method of structuring the teaching material in physics, while maintaining the traditional sequence of thematic modules: mechanical; thermodynamics and molecular physics (including elements of statistical physics); electricity and magnetism; waves, optics; quantum physics (including physics of the atom and elements of solid state physics); nuclear physics; physical picture of the world. As the most important concepts in physics arisen experiment are phenomenological and then physical knowledge can be represented on the one side, the experimental phenomenological laws describing various phenomena, on the other side, the pattern of these phenomena. The basis of the method of structuring the course of physics is to allocate the experimental laws and phenomenological models of varying complexity and generality, by which explained the mechanism of the phenomenon and process. In this case, models and hypotheses (classic-entry level, relativistic, quantum-higher level), by which explained the mechanisms of the phenomena that are of particular importance
