On the ideality of mental phenomena
Abstract
The paper analyzes ideal (mental) phenomena based on a fundamentally different methodological position, including a different understanding of the category of "information". The main emphasis is on the quality of information, changing in the modalities: "ideal" – "material". Accordingly, the following types are distinguished in the category of "information": "Ideal information», "Psychoinformation" and "Neuroinformation". Particular attention is paid to the concept of "psychoinformation", the introduction of which allows us to interpret practically everything mental from a single point of view (within the framework of classical psychology, this is the "psyche" of a person, including both the unconscious and conscious levels). This approach allows us to confirm and substantiate the hypothesis of K. Jung about the presence in the "unconscious" of all the same mental phenomena and processes that exist at the level of consciousness. In the aspect of psychoinformation, a methodological analysis of the work of L.S. Vygotsky "Thinking and Speech" is carried out; It is shown that already in this work he had laid down the possibility of solving the "eternal" psychophysiological problem, however, the implementation of this possibility was not carried out for ideological reasons. A number of hypotheses are put forward and (logically) proven, in particular, that the concept of "psychoinformation" is a criterion that allows one to quite clearly distinguish ideal mental phenomena from phenomena that only seem mental. The following are formulated: a position common to all psychology - the transformation of any mental phenomena into psychoinformation allows them to influence the material structures of a living organism, as well as the law of "Information psychodynamics". A conclusion is made that, in essence, consciousness cannot be attributed to ideal mental phenomena, since consciousness is a process of changing the quality of information (from ideal information to psychoinformation and further to neuroinformation of brain structures).

The role of neural networks in the development of communicative competence of technical science students
Abstract
Communicative competence has a significant impact on the successful integration of a modern specialist into the professional environment, so its development is one of the priority tasks of educational institutions. At the current stage of modern technological development, AI tools based on neural network models have considerable potential to cope with this task, but for the most effective realization of this potential, it is necessary to create a methodology for their application. This study contributes to the development of the methodology for the application of neural network technologies in the educational process in order to improve the quality of professional training of specialists. The scientific novelty of the work consists in a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of applying neural network models to the development of the main components of communicative competence and types of speech activity, taking into account the specific characteristics of students. The following methods were used in the research: content analysis of scientific publications, technical specifications of applications, and reviews of experts and users of software products; pedagogical observation (evaluating how students used neural network technologies in the educational process); online survey (questionnaire) of students to identify their attitude towards the capabilities of AI tools and to collect information on the experience of using neural networks for the development of communicative competence. This research may be of interest to university teachers and researchers dealing with the application of neural network technologies and AI tools. The results of the work can be used in teaching foreign languages at universities to improve the quality of communicative competence development, as well as for the development of educational programs and assessment tools in relevant disciplines.

Teaching English for specific purposes to students of pharmaceutical university
Abstract
The paper deals with the methodology and significance of teaching English for specific purposes (ESP) to students of pharmaceutical university. The aim of the study is to develop the methodology of teaching English for specific purposes to pharmacy students. As the pharmaceutical industry is becoming increasingly important around the world, proficiency in English is essential for future pharmacists to communicate effectively in the professional environment. Currently, a number of studies, both foreign and domestic authors, are devoted to teaching professionally oriented foreign language to students of technical and natural science specialties. Some publications touch upon the issues related to teaching students English in the field of medicine. The novelty of this work lies in the author’s appeal to the problem of teaching English to students of pharmaceutical university, considering it not only from the position of a teacher, but also taking into account the views and opinions of students regarding the discipline. Pharmaceutical faculties are included in the structure of medical universities in our country, and the teaching of foreign language to future pharmacists is often based on medical programmes. The paper discusses specific teaching techniques aimed at developing vocabulary, communication skills and cultural competences required for pharmaceutical practice. The need to integrate real-life scenarios and practical applications into the learning process to increase student engagement in foreign language instruction is emphasized. In addition, the challenges faced by teachers in delivering ESP courses are discussed and strategies for overcoming difficulties are suggested, ultimately better preparing pharmacy students for their role in a multilingual and multicultural health care environment.

Characteristics of the process model of pedagogical support for the development of university students’ tolerance
Abstract
This paper presents a process model of pedagogical support for the development of university students’ tolerance and pedagogical conditions for its optimal functioning. The model in question reflects the expediency of independent blocks: targeted (the goal is to form a high level of university students’ tolerance); methodological (activity–based approach and principles of taking into account cultural boundaries, axiology, synergy and dialogue; socio-pedagogical approach and principles of reliance on the positive socio-cultural experience of ethnic groups, self-worth of the individual; participation in decision-making), meaningful (strategies: facilitation, reflexive, communicative (including euphemization as a speech strategy for the tolerance formation), cooperation, coping strategies; directions: meaning-forming, educational, interactive-activating), effective (dynamics and final result – a high level of students’ tolerance, tracked by motivational, cognitive, activity and corresponding indicators in the logical description of the stages (orienting, informative, activating) of achieving the planned result. The effective block of the developed model defines the levels: high (striving to master the ways of constructive interaction, dialogue, equal communication, compromise, cooperation; conscious, systematic knowledge about the phenomenon of “tolerance” about the ways and directions of its development; active life position, etc.); average (fragmentally meaningful emotional and value attitude to the implementation of constructive interaction in a multiethnic and multicultural society; moderate acceptance of diversity, not static attitude to differences; insufficient deep knowledge about the phenomenon under study; fragmentary manifestation activity in mastering the skills of tolerant interaction; low (biased, often hidden negative attitude towards representatives of racial, national, age, religious, etc. differences; limited awareness of tolerance: lack of information (lack of awareness of the diversity of cultures, views and ways of life, which leads to stereotypes and bias), etc.).

Motivational component of cognitive activity of first-year university students (the case of IKBFU)
Abstract
The research deals with the motivational component of cognitive activity of first-year students of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU). It analyzes the meaning of life orientations, motives of entering the university and choosing a specialty, as well as aspects of students’ extracurricular activities. The main method was questionnaire survey (n=533). The study showed that the meaning of life orientations, motives for entering university and choosing a specialty of students are based on both materialistic (desire to earn money, get a job) and post-materialistic values (interest in study, chosen specialty). In general, most of the motives are of narrow social nature, focused on personal goals that lie outside the educational process. In the structure of students’ leisure time, intellectual leisure is present, but a significant part of time is devoted to less cognitive activities. Low interest in university events and scientific activities is revealed, which emphasizes the need to develop pedagogical work in these areas. The results of the study can be used to personalize and individualize the educational environment of the university.

Student grant as a form of self-realization of students in artistic and creative activities
Abstract
The paper discusses the experience of involving students in experimental work on the development of a grant and the opportunities for their self-realization in collective artistic and creative activities. The aim of the study is to introduce students to practice-oriented design through their self-realization in artistic and creative activities in extracurricular competitive activities. Nowadays it is the optimal integration of classroom, independent and extracurricular activities of students that contributes to the development of a modern specialist. It explains the relevance of the study. While the ways to improve classroom learning for students are sufficiently covered in the scientific literature, the issues of extracurricular activities remain open for discussion, therefore, there are opportunities for their further investigation. A promising area for students’ self-realization in extracurricular activities are various competitions, olympiads, and grants. The paper presents the experience of implementing the student grant “History in Colors”, the results of which showed not only a high level of student training, but also contributed to the enrichment of professional competencies in the process of their self-realization. As a result, students came to a deeper understanding of the meaning of the materials in the educational process and their further use in professional activities.

Family-school interaction: parents’ needs, assessment, and expectations
Abstract
Modern Russian and international studies show that the interaction between school and family as subjects of the educational process has several positive outcomes for all participants: improved student performance, increased teacher effectiveness, and a positive impact on family well-being. However, parental involvement in their children’s school life is hindered by various factors, including institutional and organizational barriers, teachers’ lack of readiness, as well as the needs and capabilities of the families themselves. To identify family needs and expectations of school activities, a survey was conducted among 60 parents of students in grades 5–8 at general education schools in Smolensk. During the analysis, the responses were further divided into groups based on student age and academic performance. It was found that parents are generally satisfied with various aspects of interaction between teachers and both students and parents (openness, friendliness, support). They appreciate the opportunities for communication with teachers, administration, and other specialists through both traditional and remote channels. Parents are informed about school life, and the predominant type of involvement is passive observation (more than 80 %), while active involvement is regularly practiced by no more than a quarter of respondents. There is a noted low level of interest in parent-specific events and participation in school organization activities as a whole. Parents of students in grades 7 and 8, as well as those with high academic performance, demonstrate greater activity in interacting with the school and involvement in events. The results indicate the need for schools to foster active types of parental involvement and adopt a differentiated approach to organizing such activities.

Teachers’ training to design pedagogical tools for the development of students’ critical thinking
Abstract
We attribute the development of critical thinking to the urgent problem of teachers’ training in the additional professional education (APE) system, allowing them to design tasks for the development of students’ critical thinking, which determines the formation of their functional literacy. The paper reveals a solution to the problem of developing didactic tools and conditions by teachers within the framework of professional development in the APE system that ensure the development of students’ critical thinking. The aim is to describe the use of techniques for contextual understanding of the text in the APE courses for teachers, which determine the development of critical thinking of education subjects. Project teams of teachers (112 people) from the Lyceum of Istra, Secondary School No. 17 in Odintsovo, Moscow Region, took part in the experimental work on the implementation of techniques for the development of critical thinking designed by teachers trained in the DPO system. Diagnostics of the development of teachers’ critical thinking was carried out on the basis of the methodology for determining the level of development of teachers’ critical thinking (E.N. Volkova), an individual measure of reflexivity (A.V. Karpova). The techniques for contextual perception and analysis of text have been developed, including interpretation, explanation, evaluation, interpretation, questions and critical analysis of videos, works of art and texts through the prism of a certain context. These techniques represent the novelty of the study. A methodology for constructing techniques for interpreting and treating any content, video material, critical analysis of texts in the context of certain concepts and theories is presented. A methodology for designing a technique for explaining, interpreting and critically analyzing materials, including educational videos and texts, in the context of the content of various subjects is also proposed. All the proposed techniques are related to the theoretical significance of this study. The practical significance of the study is revealed in a specific assignment for teachers undergoing their qualification mastering at the level of APE, consisting of a multi-contextual interpretation of the video «Stand to the end, don’t you dare break!» The techniques developed in the study for contextual perception, comprehension of the text, and the methods for their development by teachers improving their qualifications in the APE system expand and enrich the theory of modeling pedagogical means for developing critical thinking in education subjects and create new opportunities for its development.
