Implicit theory of personality as a prerequisite for pedagogical intuitions development

Garipova Y.M.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of pedagogical intuition, its interconnection with the ideas of man about intellect and personality. Pedagogical intuition is frequently used in teachers' work, but the concept of pedagogical intuition and ways of its development is not clear. At the same time, developed pedagogical intuition, as an ability of a teacher to make quick decisions in their professional activity, allows them to simplify and speed up the process of solving professional issues, which is especially important for modern Russian teachers. Due to the high level of bureaucratization of education and a large teaching load, teachers in Russia are very time-bounded in their work. The article suggests that pedagogical intuition can be developed through the development of other personal characteristics. This study examined the relationship of intuitive abilities on the one hand, and the implicit theories of the personality, its learning objectives - on the other. To confirm this thesis, 50 senior students of the pedagogical university of Naberezhnye Chelny were interviewed. Since the sample was not large, the author of this article does not deny the possible error in the results of the study. However, it should be noted that the sample of the study will be increased several times to confirm the results obtained. As a result of the study, significant results were obtained on two scales of the questionnaire of implicit theories and learning objectives by C. Dweck and the questionnaire of the intuitive style of S. Epstein.

Evstropova N.S., Rakova E.V.

Abstract

Currently, the so-called "inclusive education", which acts as the only internationally recognized tool to enforce everyone’s right to education, is becoming a very important part of the education system reform in Russia. Inclusive education, as part of the educational policy of many countries - members of the international organization UNESCO, is seen as a dynamic approach, which presupposes a positive attitude to the diversity of students as well as perception of individual characteristics not as a problem, but as an opportunity to enrich the learning process. High quality education for all students is an essential requirement of educational inclusion applied in international practice. Nowadays, in modern practice there is already some positive experience in implementation of inclusion in the process of teaching foreign languages at higher educational institutions. Basic knowledge of a foreign language helps such students to socialize, to become more independent and to avoid difficulties when communicating and interacting in the educational environment. Thus, the main task of inclusive education - socialization of children with disabilities is implemented. Moreover, practice of this type is based on the idea of accepting the individuality of each student. That is why, the process should be organized in such way to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Therefore, this paper is aimed at studying the strategies of involving students with disabilities in the educational process and improving their results when teaching a foreign language. The authors focus on Internet resources and communication strategies used in interaction with students in the framework of inclusive education.

Unsuccessful language learners: the content of the notion and the typology

Igolkina N.I.

Abstract

The necessity to improve effectiveness and efficiency in education forces teachers and scholars to create and implement new forms of interventions. Unsuccessful language learners need special consideration from the teachers to diagnose the courses of low performance and apply effective means to improve their performance in foreign language learning. Various problems which language learners face in second language acquisition lead to considering unsuccessful learners as a separate phenomenon. The comparison of the terms «unsuccessful learners» и «low performance learners» has shown that the former term comprises subjective learning assessment, whereas the latter term includes the assessment of the performance correspondence to certain criteria. The approach to unsuccessful learners typology is introduced which is based on the relations between four factors. Behavioural factor reflects the use or lack of language learning strategies use. Cognitive factor is based on the language aptitude scores and depends on the development of cognitive functions. Emotional factor is characterised by the emotional intelligence level. Linguistic factor is revealed in the comparison of the native and target languages as well as in the peculiarities of the first language speech. The further development of this typology will allow researchers to develop diagnostic tools to define the courses of failures and low performance and to create recommendations and tools for language teachers.

Kalmykova D.A.

Abstract

The paper considers the problem of the inconsistency of the traditional educational process of higher education with changes in the socio-economic environment at the present stage of development of society. The conditions that are necessary today for training students with multidisciplinary thinking oblige the teacher to act as a consultant, coach, mentor and manager-organizer of the educational process, which has now become identical to the knowledge management process. Changing the role of the teaching staff of the educational organization of higher education actualizes the task of development of university teacher's knowledge management skills. The article presents the results of comparative and correlation analyzes of experimental work on development of university teacher’s knowledge management skills, considered as an integrative property of a person, combining value-motivational, instrumental-digital, scientific-research, evaluative-analytical, interactive-communication and academic and business components. The author proposed indicators of the selected components in the readiness structure, described their development and determined the dominant indicators of each component as a result of establishing and formative experiments. The materials of the experimental work presented in the article are aimed at identifying and enhancing both the relationships between the components of development and the relationships between the dominant indicators of structural elements. The results obtained indicate the development of all components in the readiness structure by means of additional professional educational programs. The analysis allows us to talk about the possibility of forming the components of the university teacher’s development for knowledge management due to the compensatory properties of indicators of the elements of its structure.

In Russia, in connection with the change in federal legislation, the problem of the labor activity of older people is being updated. According to these data, governments of different countries are taking more and more measures to ensure the employment of older people. Education for sustainable development: new opportunities with the rce network

Yurina M.V., Lopukhova Y.V., Kuznetsova G.D.

Abstract

The goals of sustainable development can not be achieved only through technological innovation, policy decisions and financial support. Education for sustainable development (ESD) makes it possible to deal constructively and creatively with current and future global challenges and to create a sustainable society. A special place in the global distribution of ESD is currently played by the network of Regional centres of expertise (RCE) established under the auspices of the UN University. The RSEs form a global network of formal and non-formal educational institutions and organizations to mobilize them in the field of ESD. Currently, this network includes more than 168 centers, two of which are located in Russia. According to the profiles of RCEs worldwide the main objective of their activities is consolidation of educational efforts of universities and different cultural and environmental institutions and organizations, together with the municipality, for increasing public awareness of sustainable development. The key partners of RCEs, the leading regional Universities, combined on one platform, are acting as an educational consortium, which is mainstreaming ESD by its appropriate integration in the curricula of formal education, from early childhood rearing to primary, secondary, technical and vocational and higher education, and also nonformal education initiatives, particularly through sustainability-related intended learning outcomes. The article summarizes the experience of RCEs in the field of ESD, highlights the most promising activities, forms of implementation of RCE projects together with universities, identifies the most urgent needs of educational institutions in the field of ESD. The authors of this article found themselves in a situation where after the merger of two regional universities the RCE previously hosted by one of them (RCE Samara, Russia) requires brand new start. Obviously there was a lack of a formal conceptual framework for development in the previous period. Thus, the article is an attempt to find new ideas and new ways of development for the existing center, to make it a leading example in Russia of the power of education for sustainable development, where people of all ages are given the knowledge and tools they need to assume responsibility for creating a better tomorrow and a sustainable future.
