Gaponova Z.K., Serogodskaya A.A.

Abstract

The paper proposes to pay attention to the study of speech situation of apology by foreign students on the example of modern fiction text analysis. Since reading as a kind of speech activity is connected with the cognitive function of the language, the proper selection of texts in the classes of Russian as a foreign language contributes to the application of the factual information contained in them in practice, as well as increasing linguocountryological competence of students. The research updates the role of speech etiquette in the aspect of linguo-country studies and raises the problem of finding relevant and communicatively valuable material for teaching, the selection of such texts that would be available for intercultural discussion. Choosing the story «Sorry, Fool» by the children’s writer Asya Petrova, the authors describe the advantage of modern children’s literature over other sources and aim to create productive intercultural communication in the classroom. Analyzing the situation of an apology at advanced levels of language proficiency, the authors consider an apology as a communicatively defined event that takes into account contemporary realities and extra-linguistic factors. A system of exercises and questions, including the traditional complex of text tasks: pre-textual, by-textual and post-textual exercises aimed at the formation of the behavior culture and the development of oral speech, is proposed for the formation of students’ communicative skills. The research resulted in the testing of the presented work in practical classes with foreign students on topics related to speech etiquette and human speech culture. The authors note that the affective reading on the example of Asya Petrova’s story «Sorry, Fool» proved to be effective in practice, contributed to the creation of a situation of success in the organization of international communication and allowed to implement the participants’ intentional promotion of the principles and values of their culture in the class.

Unsuccessful pedagogical situations

Dobrova V.V.

Abstract

On the basis of the previous theoretical and practical research conducted by the author, in this paper the concept of “pedagogical situation” is studied. The suggested classification of pedagogical situations is based on the ability of a pedagogical situation to solve pedagogical tasks, reach pedagogical problems, achieve a pedagogical effect and thus to become a pedagogical event. On these basis as well as on the logic and practice of a teacher's everyday work, the three types of situations were previously identified. One type of these situations is described in this paper. The goal of such situations is unachievable, which means that the situation can not change from a potential situation to an actual situation. The goal-oriented principle of analysis opens up the prospect of establishing relationships between all the parameters of the situation and the personal characteristics of its participants. The scheme for describing pedagogical situations logically includes the following components: participants (teachers and students a potential pedagogical agent), goal/task, conditions (locus).

Role-playing as a form of joint activity in the process of learning a foreign language

Pushkareva I.A.

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the consideration of the role-playing game as a form of joint activity in order to form social and communicative competencies of students in the foreign language classes in a non-linguistic university. The problem of joint activity in the learning process is one of the most important in modern psychology and pedagogy. The paper attempts to reveal the interdisciplinary nature of the concept of “activity” through a system of active subject-object relations or interactions from the point of view of basic and related sciences. The research is also focused on the structural components and process of joint activities, consideration of the activity approach in the management of the education process and self-organizing activities of students. Joint training activities at a foreign language lesson are considered through the forms of interaction between the teacher and students in the process of preparing and conducting a role-playing game. The joint educational activity of the teacher and students forms not only the communicative, but also the social competence of students, and is also considered as a model of their further interactions. The role-playing game is recognized as one of the most effective innovative forms of teaching a foreign language and is a socially significant and practically directed activity that increases the language and social competence of students and implements a communicative and activity approach to teaching a foreign language. The author justifies the need to use innovative methods of teaching a foreign language that contribute to the productive solution of personal, social and professional matters. Analysis of the role-playing game in a foreign language practical lesson made it possible to come to conclusions about the effectiveness of game forms and an activity approach in learning, as well as the possibility of implementing all forms of educational cooperation leading to partnership as the highest and most developed form of a person’s self-organization.

Role of information and communication technologies in the development of listening skills of non-linguistic students at a technical university

Shvaikina N.S., Popel A.A.

Abstract

This paper focuses on a particular type of modern technologies, i.e. information and communication technology which has emerged as part of digital didactics. These technologies have brought about dramatic changes in all walks of life as well as in our expectations of what students should learn to survive in a new technological world. In their future work students will have to deal with large volumes of information obtained digitally, to use digital tools to work not only in Russian, but also in a foreign language (English). Consequently, it is necessary to teach them how to operate digital tools while teaching them the language. Among the most challenging speech activities, it is listening comprehension that challenges learning the most and requires longer time to develop at technical university due to insufficient number of hours given to the discipline called “Foreign (English) Language” in engineering faculties. Thus, the object of the research is the process of developing listening skills of nonlinguistic students in foreign (English) language classes. The subject of the research is interactive tasks based on web-services, aimed at developing their listening skills. The aim of the research is to create and test listening comprehension tasks on the platform of web services during lessons of foreign (English) language for students of non-language direction at technical university. To follow up listening skills and search for new audio texts the authors suggest using Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab resource and AI-based Andy application which simulates native speech. Based on a four-month (one semester) experiential study these resources have proven themselves effective.

Levels of mastering theoretical knowledge of higher mathematics in computerized testing

Kal’ney S.G., Konsevich N.N., Migunova E.S., Chaykina E.V.

Abstract

This paper deals with the problem of computer testing of students’ level of theoretical knowledge on Higher Mathematics. When assessing students in Mathematics, their mastery of skills and abilities to solve problems and to use theoretical material falls into different categories. Test tasks to assess the ability to solve typical problems are often based on the prediction of the success of their solution by students, taking into account teaching experience, task examples from published sets of tests on Higher Mathematics. The process of tasks development is rather complicated for many reasons. In particular, when discussing some tasks with the student during the exam, the teacher’s questions usually do not have a test form and it is more difficult to predict the success of the student’s performance in this case. Therefore, the paper proposes to correlate test tasks to assess the mastery of theoretical material in higher mathematics with a certain hierarchical system of levels of knowledge acquisition. Matching test tasks knowledge with mastering level allows you to take into account their development and the depth of the study of theoretical material in mathematical disciplines. The paper deals with the hierarchical system of four levels of knowledge assimilation (recognition, mechanical reproduction, fragmentary understanding, integral understanding), gives examples of tasks for each level and the results of the success in individual test tasks, which can be useful for teachers when developing tests to check the theoretical knowledge of Mathematics.

Cognitive and emotional statements as components of reciprocal interaction in network thinking

Dautov D.F.

Abstract

Working in the world of the 21st century requires ever closer cooperation, more and more people. At the same time, paradoxically, the people of this society are increasingly striving for independence and feel lonely, despite the increased possibilities of digital technologies that greatly facilitate information interaction. All this could not but affect human thinking, which, together with network technologies, was forced to change significantly, turning into network thinking. As thinking changes, so does the interaction between people. To study this interaction, a study was conducted to analyze the components of reciprocity in network thinking. The method used in obtaining primary results was content analysis. Mathematical processing of the obtained data was carried out by means of multivariate analysis of variance. The study determined the parameters of the initial conditions of network thinking that affect various forms of reciprocity, as well as emotional and cognitive statements. Combinations of conditions in the greatest and least degree influencing the quantitative and qualitative component of interaction in solving mental problems are revealed. The influence of various forms of reciprocity on emotional and cognitive statements realized in the process of network thinking by participants in problem solving has been established. Combinations of two forms of reciprocity are determined that contribute to a change in the number of emotional and cognitive statements. Fundamental differences in the influence of various forms of reciprocity on utterances in the process of joint mental activity are revealed. The results obtained as a result of the study can be used to assess the features of interdependent interaction in the implementation of network thinking and its correction by changing the initial conditions for the implementation of mental activity.

Structural organization of learning styles among students with different risk of internet-dependent behavior

Bembeeva N.A., Belousova A.K.

Abstract

The paper presents empirical results of the study of the structural organization of learning styles among students with unequal risk of Internet-dependent behavior based on structural and psychological analysis. The purpose of this research was to study the structural organization of learning styles among students, taking into account the degree of risk of their Internet-dependent behavior. The features of students’ learning styles in the Internet space are analyzed. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that the introduction of the Internet into a person’s life has changed his thinking and, in general, his image of the world. At the same time, the study of learning styles at the student age is of interest not only in scientific terms, but also in practical terms due to the active introduction of online learning and the use of information technologies in the learning process. The study used Chen’s CIAS methodology, D.Kolb’s "Definition of learning style" methodology, "Thinking Style" methodology by A.K. Belousova. The study also used methods of mathematical and statistical processing of empirical data, in particular, structural and psychological analysis based on generalized indicators of the index of organization, integrativity and differentiation of the structure, the express-x^2 method for comparing matrices and structurograms for their "homogeneity–heterogeneity", proposed by A.V. Karpov. The results of the study show that the values of the indices of the structural organization of the indicators of learning styles and Internet addiction differ among students with different risks of Internet-dependent behavior. The structural diagrams of the study indicators in all three identified groups of students with varying degrees of Internet-dependent behavior are heterogeneous. Thus, they have qualitative differences in the content of the relationships.

Dynamics of students' internal health picture with increasing external stress factors

Doronina N.N., Kuznetsova L.B., Shvetsova V.A.

Abstract

The rapid changes in the situation in world politics, the increase in the intensity of armed conflicts, the narrowing of the time perspective are unprecedented challenges that the modern generation of young people have to face. In these conditions, the problem of the psychological health of young people and the factors of its preservation is becoming increasingly important. To designate the integral characteristic of the idea of one's health in the self-consciousness of the individual, as a system-forming factor of health-saving behavior in domestic psychology, the concept of "internal picture of health" is used. The purpose of the study is to analyze the dynamics of the internal picture of the health of university students in the context of the growth of external stress factors (increasing tension of the armed conflict in the neighboring state). The study was conducted on the basis of the Belgorod State National Research University. It was attended by students of 2007, 2017 and 2022 recruitment years. The total number of subjects was 288 people. The analysis of the characteristics of the dynamics of the internal picture of students' health was carried out using the following psychodiagnostic methods: the questionnaire "Attitude towards health" (R.A. Berezovskaya), the questionnaire "Assessment of the level of satisfaction with the quality of life" (N.E. Vodopyanova), the questionnaire "Coping methods" (R .Lazarus, S. Folkman, adapted by K. L. Guseva). The results obtained allow us to conclude that the transformation of the internal picture of health among young people in the face of the growth of external stress factors is really taking place. The revealed dynamics of attitudes towards health is expressed in a more pragmatic approach to health, an increase in satisfaction with the ability to maintain one's own emotional well-being, as well as a more intensive use of most types of coping, updating previously unused coping strategies. Thus, the internal picture of health as a systemic psychological formation acts as a regulatory mechanism of self-awareness, activating its work aimed at overcoming threats to the psychological health of the individual. The results of the study can be used in the work of the psychological services of universities.

The concept of interethnic security of the region (on the example of Tatarstan)

Khusnutdinova R.R., Yusupov I.M.

Abstract

When there is a social and economic disadvantage in the region, the consciousness of the subject begins to look for the image of the enemy, which more often focuses on representatives of national diasporas. Interethnic tensions are growing. The distance between ethnophores and ethnoses increases to complete mutual rejection in their area. In an aggravated situation, social security. The paper puts forward the concept of interethnic security based on minimizing threats perceived by the ethnos as a problem. An indicator of unstable security is an increase intension. Subjectively, security is expressed in the absence of fear of external threats [1]. Its predictors include: numerical and status imbalance of ethnic groups; their hyperidentificity; unemployment of the population; its low education; intolerance. The listed socio-psychological constructs are observed visually and recorded by the corresponding markers of individual and mass behavior. The purpose of theoretical and empirical research is to distinguish between manifestations of anomalies of ethnic identity and to resist extremist actions provoking interethnic and interfaith conflicts. An empirical study of the interethnic distancing of three peoples – Russians, Tatars and Chuvash – who make up 96 % of the region's population was conducted. The representative sample included 946 people. Based on an array of empirical data, general and individual estimated ranges of ethnic groups' distance were calculated. Predictors of increasing interethnic tension in the region they make up a structural pentabasis. Exceeding the acceptable for an ethnic group «norms» of any of them causes alatent murmur of ethnophores. Exceeding the «norms» of the two signals about the increase in protest. In case of three or more in any combination – mass disobedience is possible, threatening security.
