The relationship between tolerance for uncertainty and creativity among high school students with a critical style of thinking

Abstract

The paper presents the results of a study of tolerance relation to uncertainty and creativity among senior schoolchildren with a critical style of thinking. The authors use valid diagnostic methods: A. Belousova’s thinking style questionnaire, S. Badner’s uncertainty tolerance questionnaire, and P. Torrance’s test. The sample consists of 90 senior schoolchildren, both boys and girls. As a result of the study, the groups of schoolchildren with a dominant critical and practical style of thinking have been identified. The authors show that there are significant differences in the development of relationships between uncertainty and creativity tolerance scales, between uncertainty tolerance and critical thinking style, creativity and critical thinking style. The differences have been obtained in the development of tolerance for uncertainty, creativity in relation to the practical style of thinking.

Thinking styles as predictors of psychological readiness of students for innovative activities

Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of thinking styles and creativity as predictors of students’ psychological readiness for innovation. The aim of the study was to identify the influence of students’ thinking styles on their psychological readiness for innovation. The study involved 100 students of the Don State Technical University, aged from 17 to 27 years. The research methods were the survey method, statistical analysis methods (descriptive statistics, multiple regression analysis (step-by-step)). The following methods were used as psychodiagnostic tools: the questionnaire «Psychological readiness for innovation» (V.E. Klochko, O.M. Krasnoryadtseva); the method of measuring the style of thinking (A.K. Belousova); the method of determining the type of thinking of J. Bruner in the modification of G.V. Rezapkina; the questionnaire «Styles of thinking» (R. Bramson, A. Harrison, adapted by A. Alekseev, L. Gromova). The study found that students’ psychological readiness for innovation is influenced by thinking styles and creativity. Predictors of psychological readiness for innovation are creativity, realistic and critical thinking styles. The preference for activities that require innovation is influenced by creativity, initiative, idealistic and realistic thinking styles. Predictors of readiness for change are creativity and critical thinking styles. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of applying in the educational process the knowledge about the influence of students’ thinking styles and creativity on their psychological readiness for innovation.

The program of psychological rehabilitation of persons with acquired disorders of the musculoskeletal system

Abstract

The study of factors influencing the success of rehabilitation of persons with acquired musculoskeletal disorders acquired in adulthood is determined by the increasing role in the psychological support and integration of such individuals into society, as well as the lack of methodological approaches and proven recommendations aimed at improving the rehabilitation process. The paper presents the psychological characteristics of people with musculoskeletal disorders acquired in adulthood. According to the results of psychodiagnostic examination, the program of psychological support for persons with musculoskeletal disorders has been developed. The aim of the study was to study the psychological characteristics of persons with acquired disorders of musculoskeletal disorders, to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the program of psychological rehabilitation. We used the following research methods: clinical and psychological, psychodiagnostic, statistical, methods of analysis of empirical data. The ascertaining study was carried out with two groups: with disorders of the musculoskeletal disorders and without violations of the musculoskeletal disorders (the total number of participants was 60 people). Diagnostic tools: questionnaire «Adaptability» (A.G. Maklakov, S.V. Chermyanin), Freiburg personality questionnaire (modified by A.A. Krylov, T.I. Ronginskaya), «Style of self-regulation of behavior» (V.I. Morosanov), «Test of resilience» (S. Maddy, adaptation by DA Leontiev). Statistical data processing was carried out using the following criteria: Mann-Whitney U-test, Wilcoxon T-test using SPSS Statistics 19. It was revealed that persons with acquired disorders of musculoskeletal disorders are characterized by low adaptive abilities, an increased level of neuropsychic stress. Characterized by an insufficient level of self-regulation, the ability to consciously plan activities. It is determined that resilience is characterized by low involvement, insufficient ability to overcome life difficulties. It is shown that a personal factor that enhances maladjustment is low contact, emotional tension when interacting with others. The proposed program of psychological assistance to persons with disorders of the musculoskeletal system helps to overcome passivity, alienation; the formation of independence, responsibility, an active life position, a system of value orientations, strengthening of social position, and, ultimately, successful social adaptation.

Culture of teenager’s spiritual safety: definition and characterization of criteria features

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the issues of a teenager education as a subject of spiritual culture. The purpose of this research is to study the phenomenon of the «culture of teenager’s spiritual safety» to identify the criteria and their features. What is described in this paper is more theoretical in nature and precedes the practical part, therefore the following methods are used: analysis, comparison, contrast, study of methodological experience, generalization. To achieve this goal, we have identified the following tasks: 1) to consider the phenomenon of culture in the view of domestic pedagogy; 2) analyze the concepts related to the subject of research: «spirituality», «security», «personal security», «spiritual security»; 3) on the basis of studying the characteristics of a spiritual personality, identify the criteria for the culture of teenager’s spiritual security and outline the main characteristics of these criteria. Much attention is paid to traditional culture. Teenager’s spiritual safety is defined as a system of conditions ensuring the preservation of important cultural parameters within the existing traditional standards. The criteria of the culture of teenager’s spiritual safety have been determined. They are moral, cognitive, axiological, informational ones. Each of the criteria has indicators that reflect the formation level of teenager’s certain characteristics. Socio-civic and individual-personal levels reflect the personality traits, the perfection of which we see in the culture of spiritual security. In general, mastering the culture of teenager’s spiritual security is designed to contribute to the development of a creative personality. The theoretical grounds for identifying the phenomenon of the culture of teenager’s spiritual safety are described in detail, the choice of criteria features is justified, and their characteristics are presented. The results contribute to theoretical pedagogy and are aimed at further development of methodological recommendations, creation of a process model and practical application.

The retrospective analysis of the theories of giftedness

Abstract

The research interest to such phenomenon as giftedness has already been taken place in the discussions in some areas: anthropological — about human nature, pedagogical — about the interaction between bringing up, education and training of a gifted child, social — about the circumstances of revealing of special abilities of children, psycological — about nature, classification and sources of giftedness. On the base of theoretical-empirical methods of scientific research (theoretical analysis of philosophical, pedagogical, psychological, methodical, historical literature; content-analysis of normative-methodical documents, methods of comparison and classification) the following results of retrospective analysis of theories of giftedness. The stages in the development of the idea of giftedness and its fundamental distinctive definitions are highlighted, the methodical principles of theories of giftedness are defined, the necessity of working out the methodological basis of the process of continuous development of gifted children. The retrospective analysis of evolutional development of the theories of giftedness points out that their conceptual differences are based on different scientific theoretical and methodological researches, are determined by the dynamics of socio-political, economical and socio-cultural processes. On the other hand, the diversity of concepts is the consequence of versatility and difficulty of giftedness nature, impossibility to work out the general references and strategies of development for all its demonstrations. The giftedness is defined as gradually developing competence, performing as the basis of effective activity of the talented personality. The study, analysis and generalization of the main elements of the giftedness theories given in the works of Russian and foreign scientists, form the scientific platform for search and working out the scientific and practical methods of giftedness development aimed to find out and develop of potential and hidden opportunities of schoolchildren, aimed to individual accompaniment of their educational paths, aimed to formation of social motivation.

Personnel safe work training using the methods of pedagogical testing at the enterprises

Abstract

The paper considers the dependence of the prevention of erroneous actions of the company’s personnel at work on the degree of training. A scheme of safe human actions when a problem situation occurs has been designed, it is used to develop a technology for training safe actions. This scheme allowed creating comprehensive teaching techniques using a simulator based on concept-oriented pedagogical tests and instructions on safe performance of work with the help of standard-oriented pedagogical tests. A mini-alternative methodology is proposed for the development of skills and abilities to ensure safe work. To assess the effectiveness of this training method, an efficiency criterion is proposed. The authors present a concept of training for safe operations, taking into account the risks, and defining the employee’s responsibilities in case of emergences. The developed organizational structure of the instructions on safe operations with the use of computer technology includes the blocks that characterize the test activity, the reference base, extra materials and tests. The system of safe operation training has been tested at a number of enterprises in the Samara region and received a positive assessment from specialists.

Project portfolio management in an educational organization

Abstract

The paper raises the problem of project management in the educational process of a comprehensive school, which ensures the growth of teachers’ professionalism. The purpose of the paper is to develop a structure for managing a portfolio of projects that ensures the implementation of strategies for educational organization (EО) development, an increase in the professionalism of teachers. The methodological justification for the development of a project portfolio management structure is the theory of project management, the project management methodology Scrum. The research resulted in a developed temporary organizational structure for managing a portfolio of projects in EО. Scientific relevance is the development of a project portfolio management structure in EО from the standpoint of an integrative approach, expressed in the integration of knowledge related to the management of project teams of teachers, the essence of Scrum project management technology, the use of the Trello electronic service, which provides effective management of a project portfolio, including the online mode. The theoretical significance of the solution to the project management problem proposed in the paper is the theoretical positions underlying the description of the temporary organizational structure of project portfolio management, as one of the options for a hybrid structure — divisional adhocracy. The practical significance lies in the development of a specific temporary organizational structure for managing club teams of teachers implementing projects in the lyceum in Istra, which can be used in educational practice. An analysis of the results of experimental work on the professional development of teachers of an educational organization through the inclusion of teachers in the implementation of projects related to the solution of professional problems showed a positive dynamics of the levels of teacher’s professional development. This allowed the authors of the paper to consider the developed pedagogical means of teacher’s professional development of educational institutions to be effective.

Organizational and pedagogical conditions of formation of teacher’s professional image in the context of education standartization

Abstract

In the structure of modern standards of education, one of the important and popular components that increases the effectiveness of pedagogical activity is the professional image of the teacher. The importance of teacher’s professional image formation is actualized as this image promotes not only productivity, but also influences the perception of the teaching work representative by participants of the educational process. In the process of teacher’s professional image formation organizational and pedagogical conditions should be provided considering the context of standardization of education. The concept of the conditions in question is defined. The analysis of theoretical research of pedagogical conditions of teacher’s professional image formation is based on the requirements to pedagogical activity of Federal state educational standards and the professional standard «Teacher», which allowed to determine current organizational and pedagogical conditions of the teacher’s professional image formation in terms of standardization of education. The objective organizational conditions for teacher’s professional image formation are the following: standardization of the education process, creation of a polysubject educational environment, teacher’s motivation formation for professional and image development, the development of professional and image competence of teachers, the development of image self-reflection in the professional activities of teachers.

The program relevance of future engineer creativity development on the basis of scientific research

Abstract

This paper contains answers to questions that show that the formation of creativity is vital for the future of the engineer, engineering education. At the same time, the authors explore how the creativity of future engineers should be formed in the process of studying at a technical university, and propose strategies to make creativity a part of every engineering curriculum and course. The paper presents the relevance of the program for the formation of the future engineer’s creativity based on the theoretical analysis of the world experience of domestic and foreign scientists. The possibilities and methods of its implementation in the process of scientific research are shown. The presented research is based on the theory of knowledge, the activity approach, the pedagogy of creativity and the methodology of scientific research. The best practices of foreign scientists in solving the problem of forming the creativity of future engineers are presented. The purpose of the study is to justify the need to create a program aimed at developing the creativity of future engineers.
