In the article the problem of value and the essence of development of psychological competence of students making a basis of vocational training in higher education institution, within preservation of psychological health of young generation is revealed. The questions connected with the content of external processes of influence, promoting the change of the level of psychological competence of students as well as the professionally significant and personal qualities of the experts providing in subsequent professional formation of the personality in educational and pedagogical activity are considered. Various approaches to the organization of the necessary conditions of development of the psychological competence of the young specialists allowing to flexibly react to changes occurring in society, and to creatively approach the solution of professional and personal tasks are offered.
