The article discusses the use of cultural approach in teaching " Naturalistic world view" the students of social and humanitarian profile. It is proved that cultural studies approach is designed to perform a backbone role in the educational process and should be considered as a methodological principle that determines the selection of content, course structure, forms of learning activities. It is proved that the approach under consideration largely enriches the functions of a high school teacher . On the basis of this experiment it was established that the use of cultural approach improves the students' level of development of cultural competence .
