This method, on the one hand, helps to generate and develop new ideas on the studied subject and, on the other hand, promotes the development of communicative competence and creativity of students, increases their motivation. When using the method of the "Six hats" the polar points of view don't clash among themselves, and coexist and supplement each other, generating new extraordinary and innovative thoughts and ideas. Human mind, being integral and self-sufficient, often accepts all new ideas for unnatural and false. Using Edward de Bono's method, students have an opportunity to think of those things which they didn't seriously perceive before that increases their chances to find a right or a suitable solution to a problem or a situation. The method "Six hats" also helps to recruit with the discussion of reticent students.
